Hosted virtually by the Analytics Institute on the 17th of June 2021, the awards celebrate analytics-based and AI-driven innovation. Gamma was crowned SME of the Year by the judges in recognition of its demonstrated technological innovation and business acumen in a competitive market.
Since it was established in Dublin, Ireland, in 1993, Gamma has expanded to become a global provider of cloud-native location intelligence systems and services across a range of industries including insurance, retail, telecommunications, energy, banking and the public sector. The organisation also now has offices in Manchester in the UK and Bilbao in Spain.
Over the past few years, Gamma has focused its resources on developing solutions for the retail and insurance sectors, becoming a market leader in location intelligence in the Irish insurance sector. More recently, it brought its innovative Perilfinder™ solution for insurance companies to the UK market and signed its first UK customer.
Gamma is also focusing on Research & Development (R&D) through its multi-disciplinary Location Labs unit, which advances location intelligence methodologies and data using cutting-edge technology including AI and Machine Learning.
Speaking about the company’s latest achievement, Feargal O’Neill, CEO of Gamma, said: “It′s an honour to receive this award, primarily because it recognises the decades of experience in location intelligence and wealth of knowledge of AI that the team brings to our customers.
“We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality data, lowering risk and enabling innovation through our solutions – something that we will continue to do both in Ireland and further afield as we continue to grow the business. For now, we will enjoy this achievement!”
Richard Cantwell, Principal GIS (Geographic Information System) Consultant for Gamma, was also shortlisted as one of the finalists for the Practitioner of the Year award at the event.
